Subject:Brain Dead
Security:Public

Man. It's been a while since I've posted.

Now back in school. Working 20 hours a week at the DA's office. NOT doing much homework. Constantly stressing about the 3 papers (1 from last term, 2 this term (1 of which I've already got an extention for)). AND my brain can't seem to get in front of things. Granted, I'm functioning.... but man... my head is definately spinning.

My rant for the day. Must study.

Subject:Class Schedule
Security:Public

Okay guys, so I sat down and figured out my class schedule for next year. I've got an meeting with Martha so she can help me with the point spread and tell me if I'm off my rocker.

K. Here it is. (First I mark all the classes I was interested in, regardless of overlap. Then I look up the recommendations and deleted those profs with low marks. Finally, I selected classes based on needed credits and desire to keep as many open days as possible.) Had to do some juggling, but I think it works.

Fall - 16 credits
CJ-Teorr & National Security - Gorder - 2
Intellectual Property - Loren - 3
Entertainment Law - Newell - 3
Income Tax - Brown - 4
Constitutional Theory - Kanter - 3
Mock Trial Honor Board - Lasage - 1

Spring - 13 credits
Legal Reg. Political Process - Lochner - 3
Jurisprudence: Property - Kroger - 3
Wills & Trust - Vail - 4
International Law and the Occupation of Iraq - Hall - 2
Mock Trial Honor Board - Lasage - 1

Thoughts?

Subject:Old Friends and Family
Security:Public

I've never really had a close relationship with my family. Too much pressure. Too much non-approval. Pretty much did my own thing. But when it comes to friends, THEY are my family. LA was sooo wonderful because of that fact. Here I was, surrounded by some of my closest friends in the world. It was truly like a family reunion.

Anna's mom asked me to give a toast at her celebration lunch. I talked about family... about how she made us feel like we were part of her family... that our love for her was unconditional... and our joy for her accomplishments was unquantifiable. It was the first time I've had to give a toast like that. It was nerve wracking and exhilarating. She cried. I think I did good.

So I got a chance to see Lizzie. She's truly an amazing girl. Her attitude and spirt, coming on the heels of her divorce, is amazing. She's truly turned a hard page in her life and have moved on. The Lizzie which we knew in college, we loved, before Jonathan - the strong, happy, motivated, inspirational Lizzie was back. It was truly to see that part of her again.

Slept on the floor, on a thermal rest. We're in Cindy's one bedroom apartment in Pomona. 9 people. Feels like college. Need coffee. (Getting too old for this).

Subject:Ditto, Erin. Love PDX wi-fi.
Security:Public
Mood: calm

So I've had quite a morning.

Got to the airport late for my flight. Waited in line for e-check-in, only to miss my flight check-in by less than 5 minutes. Then, I'm told my ticket is not eligible for stand-by status. $250 for a one way to LA please. No. NO!!! I stormed off. Pissed. Sat down. Thought a little. Calmed down. Went for help. Talked to a new person. Their mistake. Ticket IS stand-by okay. After mutual apologies (me being late, them being morons) and $50 later, I now have a new flight.

So here I am, sitting at the airport, talking to the world on wi-fi. I love the internet. AND I love public access... free no less. Too bad the plane didn't have it.

So Emma, I started watching Grey's Anatomy the other night. Meant to start watching it from its get-go but kept forgetting to set the timer (I blame it on law school). Love the show. Good humor, good music, good characters. Kinda reminds me of the stress of law school, the close friends you develop b/c of the shared stress, and the constant sense of inadequacy and rush of practice. (Also, I kinda feel like the guy amongst the "girls").

Jess and I love the show. So I went on line and, with Limewire, downloaded the first 4 episodes I missed (gotta love when people w/Tivo post their recordings on line) (probably breaking some copy-write laws... gotta look into it) (maybe I should erase this posing... showings "knowingly" mental state... I'm a dork).

Anyways... so here I am at the airport... on line... watching the 3rd episode on my laptop.

Life is good.

PS - Erin: Have SOOO much fun with the babies. They're amazing aren't they?

Subject:Finally a human being again!!!
Security:Public

Finals are done!!! Thannk god. I FINALLY feel like a human being again.

And so... now that I have the time (and the mental capacity), I'm finally getting around to joining the "girls" and starting my own live journal. Now, what to say? Hmmm.

Well, even though I did just say that I finished my last final (Erin, how did you manage to write 15 pages in 3 1/2 hours? that's amazing!!!!), I do still have a 40 page paper for Mandiberg to do. I spent 3 hours today re-researching for my paper. Essentially ended up dumping 80% of my research on the International Criminal Court I've already collected. (Not as bad as it sounds. Didn't actually READ 80% of it the first time around anyways). One week of research reading. Then two weeks of writing. That's my plan. ...right. I'll let you know how that goes.

So I'm heading off to LA tomorrow morning!!!! YEAH! Gonna go see my dear friend Anna get her PhD (which she was awarded best distertation in her class!!!). She rocks! PhD in psycology. She so amazing. (Can you tell I'm so proud of her?).

I'm also really looking forward to this trip because its going to be a quasi (to use a legal word) college reunion. Gunther (old roomate, who's a lawyer in Baltimore), Lizzie and Anna (also an old roomate). This is going to be soo much fun!!!!

K. That's quite a babble. Not sure anybody would be interested. This live journal thing will be interesting.

More later.

PS - I miss the "girls" already (especially my law-school wife and mistress). Hope you're all enjoying the summer. Call ya soon.
